  • Paint tray
  • Dry wind free day with no rain for 24 hours
  • Safety Equipment: Gloves, goggles and a solvent mask
  • Optional: large clean plastic sheets

Check for coating compatibility before use. This polish is not compatible with single part (1K) polyurethane paints, and some additives in 2K polyurethane and Gel-coats. This can cause instantaneous yellowing and discolouration of the underlying coating.

1.

Perform a spot check. Apply a small amount of PG-4100 in an inconspicuous place having the same paint or gel-coat that is to be treated. If the surface turns yellow or discolours after 10 minutes DO NOT CONTINUE.

2.

Ensure you are working in a dry area or under cover. We need the surface to stay dry for at least 24 hours after application.

3.

Check surface condition. If oxidized and faded prepare surface with PG+ Compound & Premium Swirl.

4.

Clean surface thoroughly and dry. Tape off the area you want to apply PG—4100 P/W to with good quality tape.

5.

Prepare the applicator. Fold a microfiber cloth along the long axis then over the blade of a squeegee and secure with bulldog clips.

6.

For your protection, wear gloves, goggles and a mask if not in a well ventilated area. Pour PG—4100 P/W into a paint tray. Be careful when opening bottle as product can evolve a small amount of ammonia gas. This dissipates quickly, Do not breathe in this odour or get in your eyes.

7.

Dip the Cloth & Squeegee into the tray until the cloth is lightly soaked in the PG—4100 Permanent Waterline product.

8.

Apply the PG—4100 with even vertical strokes. Do not allow the applicator to dry out. Resoak the cloth regularly to keep a nice even layer.

9.

Do not rework areas you have covered, as this will cause cloudiness.

10.

Once you have covered the desired area allow to dry. PG—4100 will be touch dry in 8 hours, but should be left to cure fully for 24 hours. This especially applies to putting vessels back in the water. Although the PG—4100 looks cured, premature immersion WILL discolour it and cause a loss in gloss.

11.

If in a dusty environment protect with a hanging sheet of plastic taped above the treated area. Do not allow the sheets to touch the uncured coating.

12.

Clean up: Do not return unused PG-4100 into the bottle, as this will form crystals. Pour into a disposable container and allow to cure before disposal. The microfiber cloth cannot be used again.

13.

After 24 hours the coating is ready to go. It should give long lasting gloss and easy clean protection to your waterline.
